Late night note
Four-star Martels Carter Jr. has a Clemson offer at the safety spot in the 2025 class. Co-DC Mickey Conn stopped by to see him at his high school in Kentucky earlier today. Carter told me that he's now planning a spring visit to Clemson.Clemson CBs coach Mike Reed stopped in to visit 2025 DB Kaleb Lanier today at Decatur HS in Georgia. Lanier doesn't have an offer but told me he plans to visit Clemson on March 9. The Tigers need to expand their board at CB soon, and Lanier is an offer candidate in a state that Reed recruits exceptionally well in (think Avieon Terrell, Shelton Lewis, etc.).New OL coach Matt Luke is relentless on the trail right now. He stopped by Ziyare Addison's school in Florida to visit the four-star. Addison posted a stylish selfie of Luke posing alone in his locker, which sparked a Twitter conversation between uncommitted three-star OL Mal Waldrep (a junior day visitor) and Blake Hebert (2025 Clemson QB commit). Luke is on a roll and these recruits seem to love his style and sense of humor. What a fantastic addition he's been to the staff.

Matt Luke is visiting a three-star OL this morning
The new Clemson OL coach has stopped in with Dabo Swinney to see Mal Waldrep - a three-star at Central (AL). Waldrep will be Clemson junior day this weekend. Our intel places the Tigers firmly within his top four options (he will release his top four list in the near future). Auburn is the main competition here. Then Swinney and Luke will head to Evans, Ga. later today to visit Mason Short, four-star Alabama 2025 OL de-commit. At this point, it looks like a foot race between Clemson and Georgia to land Short. The Tigers are applying the "full-court press" on Short, who will also be at junior day. We expect Short to leave Junior Day with a Clemson offer this weekend.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Clemson Sports Talk rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Clemson Sports Talk Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Clemson Sports Talk readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
